Match Makers Group is a business consultancy firm that empowers businesses within the Agriculture Value Chain to grow by providing them with consultancy and financial resources. We were commissioned to design and re-package an 18 month long survey that was done for the Embassy of Netherlands focusing on the Dutch Footprint in Tanzania.
Strategy + Content + Production
The Challenge
The original 200-page report detailed the significant contributions of Dutch Enterprises in the country and underscored the lack of support they received from several government authorities. However, the tone seemed negative, focusing excessively on challenges rather than solutions. Since the report was intended to be shared with the Dutch Embassy and relevant government authorities, there was a risk that some stakeholders would respond unfavorably to the findings.
Our Process
Rather than just graphically designing the report, we revisited the strategy with the client to devise a unique approach. Our aim was to highlight the core findings and challenges in the report and present them in a way that was easy to understand, leaving room for dialogue and discussions to begin. Our creative solution was to create a fictional narrative in the form of a comic and a motion graphic video, which would engage stakeholders without causing offense or resistance.
Outcome
By transforming the report into a comic and motion graphic video, we succeeded in presenting the findings and challenges in a compelling and digestible manner. This innovative approach minimized the risk of negative responses and fostered an environment for constructive conversation, effectively addressing the initial challenge.
